I’m a 28 year old food fanatic who one day wants to make this his full time job in some way or another.
I have recently started running a community project in my local town where I have taken a piece of unused land and I am turning it a community allotment where local residents can come and grow their own veg free of charge.
The idea of the project Is to give people who don’t have the room or the time to grow in their own gardens the opportunity to come and grow fresh produce that they can take home to use and cook with. We already have a group of 8 people who have agreed to come and start growing on the site and are hoping that more families want to get involved to. We plan to hold a class once a month for children and parents to teach them about the veg we grow, where it comes from and how to cook it.
I will be adding photos along the way so that you can see what I get up to
My philosophy has always been that we all have to eat so why not eat well.
I welcome all feedback.

One of the joys of shopping in MM is the conversation you can have in most of the independant shops. The fishmonger and greengocer will also talk about how to cook their foodstuffs. But you need time to shop like this, and also more time to cook properly at home rather than paying for additives in ready meals that you only need to prick and ping in the microwave.
BTW my homemade bread with no preservatives added lasts far longer than supermarket pap.
I know what you mean about the time thing, it’s difficult for anyone especially if you have a family. I love meeting people in MM while I’m walking round town people round the market are great too.
